The application process commenced on June 10, 2026, and will remain open until July 1, 2026. The University is offering Ph.D. admissions in Psychology, Anthropology, Political Science, Public Administration, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Geography, Geology, Life Sciences, Physics, Statistics, Mathematics, Sanskrit, Hindi, English, Computer Science, Education, Distance Education, Environmental Science, Fine Arts, Theatre Arts, Music, Dance, Social Work, Management, Commerce, Nutritional Sciences, Child Development, Home Science, Vocational Education, Development Studies, Gender and Development Studies, Translation Studies, French, Arabic, and Journalism & Mass Communication. Admissions will be conducted in accordance with the UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2022. Candidates may apply through four admission categories: UGC-NET with JRF UGC-NET (Eligible for Assistant Professor and Ph.D.) UGC-NET (Eligible for Ph.D. only) University-level Entrance Test Interview/Viva-Voce shall be mandatory for all categories. IGNOU offers both Full-Time and Part-Time Ph.D. programmes. All admitted scholars will be required to undergo course work at the IGNOU Headquarters, New Delhi, with a mandatory minimum attendance of 80 per cent. The application fee is Rs. 2,000.
